Diet Starts to Head South
Today was a rest day with optional gym workout that I passed on. Took that time and reflected over my actions since back on vacation and I am not happy with myself. While my diet has not been flat-out horrible, it has not been great either. There has been a trip to the local mexican restaurant, a trip to Coldstone, and several trips to Subway that usually means the chips come out too! The only bright side is that I think I have solved the issues with my "bubble guts" issue, unfortunately solving it greatly decreases my breakfast and supplement options.
I need to get back on track with the diet. The biggest issue seems to be my laziness in the kitchen. That lazy streak causes me to either eat something that is okay, but not the greatest choice or to skip a meal. To skip a meal makes me starving, weak, and wanting instant fullness. That is when the cheats come due to most of them being a quick fix.
My plan to fix this is simple:
- Find those clean eating recipes that I liked or wanted to try.
- Make my meal plan for next week and get my list of ingredients.
- Off to the store or stores since not one carries all the good things I need.
- Pre-cook as much as I can on Sunday. If is cooked than it can be considered a quick meal!
- Go back to keeping my food log so I can see how this goes.
The 7 P's
Piss Poor Planning Promotes Piss Poor Performance!
Heard it all my military career and rolled my eyes every time. Once I got out into the civilian workforce I spent some time working for the poster child for those who need to remember the 7 P's daily. Forgetting this is why my diet has hit the dumps. If I stay ahead of my meal plan there is no way I can fail. I also need to hit the internet and find some more recipes. I am getting tired of eating the same thing week in and week out. I really need to get this small issue nipped in the bud as the road is still quite long. As I find some good recipes online I will try to post a link for everyone to use.
